Crisis Management and De-Escalation Techniques for Special Needs Assistants

This course is designed to equip Special Needs Assistants (SNAs) with the skills and strategies to effectively manage and de-escalate challenging behaviors in students with special needs. Participants will learn how to recognize early warning signs of escalation, implement effective de-escalation techniques, and respond calmly and professionally to crisis situations. The course will cover a range of topics, including verbal de-escalation strategies, physical intervention techniques, and self-care practices. By the end of the course, SNAs will be better prepared to handle challenging situations, maintain a safe and supportive learning environment, and promote positive outcomes for students with special needs.
